Design Review Board           

Meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00PM in Council Chambers at City Hall.

Purpose:
- The Design Review Board shall have the power in the Historic District Overlay Zone to review proposals for exterior construction, reconstruction, alterations or structural changes and to approve, conditionally approve, or disapprove an application.

- Any exterior changes, requiring a building permit or not, must have approval of the Design Review Board prior to commencement of work. When any project has been started without Design Review Board approval, the Design Review Board shall request that the Building Official issue a stop work order, which shall be in effect until approval is granted by the Design Review Board.
- It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to prove to the Design Review Board that the project in question conforms with the intent and purpose established in this Ordinance and with the adopted design guidelines.
- Design Review Board, upon hearing an application, shall impose such reasonable conditions as it may deem necessary in order to carry out fully the provisions and intent of this Ordinance.
- The Design Review Board shall elect a Chair and Vice Chair from among their membership.

- The Design Review Guidelines were adopted by City Council in March of 1991.
